New fire threatens homes NE of Cle Elum

A new fire is threatening structures in the Teanaway Road area 6 miles NE of Cle Elum. The Kittitas County Sheriff's Office issued Level 3 evacuation orders for 20 homes near MP 6 on Teanaway Road. The Central Washington Interagency Communications Center said the fire had grown to approximately 100 acres by late Friday afternoon.  The fire was reported about 1:30pm and the cause is under investigation.

Local fire districts along with US Forest Service and Department of Natural Resources have have responded. DNR Public Information Officer Debbie Robinson said more resources are being ordered
