The Douglas County Sheriff’s office is awarded an $8,000 grant from the Community Foundation of North Central Washington. It's to purchase additional 'Automatic External Defibrillators' for deployment in Sheriff’s office patrol vehicles. Often times a deputy on patrol's the first on-the-scene of sudden cardiac arrest incidents. The Sheriff’s office began purchasing AED’s a year ago through donations from the public. Several more AED’s are needed to outfit the entire fleet. Persons wanting to help can donate through the Community Foundation of North Central Washington.
