The Eastmont School Board approved changing the configuration of the schools in the district at Monday night's meeting.

The future configuration looks like this:

Cascade K - 6
Grant K - 6
Kenroy K - 6
Lee K - 6
Rock Island K - 6
Clovis K - 6
Sterling K - 6, and 7, 8, 9
Junior High 7, 8, 9
High School 10 - 12

This change will require the construction of over 20 additional classrooms at current schools and cafeterias at Cascade, Kenroy, Lee, and Rock Island. Funds for these additions will come from the $10,000,000 K-3 class size reduction grant and the capital levy passed last fall.

According to Superintendent Garn Christensen, the configuration changes are expected to start in the 2018-2019 school year, but won't be completed until 2020-2021. The goal is to announce the schedule for these changes in early 2018.
