Level 3 evacuation orders were lifted Saturday afternoon for about 40 homes on the Teanaway River fire and Teanaway Road has been reopened to local residents.  The area is about 6 miles NE of Cle Elum.  The fire was considered 60% contained at about 350 acres after earlier estimates indicated the fire had grown to 250 acres.  The larger figure was attributed to better mapping and officials said the fire was slowed by rains that fell in the area Saturday evening.

The fire started Friday afternoon about 1:30pm near mile marker 5.5 on the Teanaway Road and was started by recreational shooters on private property.  The fire is being managed by a Type 3 Incident Management Team.
