A farm shop, equipment, tractors and hay were destroyed in an early morning fire near Orondo this morning.  Douglas County Fire District #4 Chief Jim Oatey said crews responded to the report of a structure fire on Higgins Loop Road in the Brays Landing area just before 4:30am.

Oatey said the first units arrived and found the farm shop fully engulfed.  The fire was contained to the shop and firefighters were able to protect a nearby shed and alfalfa hay stack located about five feet away.

The fire was reported by local residents that awoke to the smell of smoke and called 911.

The fire drew a heavy response of 14 firefighters including Douglas County #2 personnel and three engines.  Four tenders were used to ferry water to the scene and Oatey reports there were no injuries.

There was approximately $200,000 in damage including the building and contents.  The cause of the fire was not available from Chief Oatey this morning.
