The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest is looking for a few good hosts.

If you ever thought about living and working in the mountains, applications are currently being accepting for 26 volunteer campground host positions for the 2017 summer season.

Campground host duties can include welcoming campers, answering questions, assisting campers in locating a campsite and properly re-registering for their site, cleaning fire pits and restrooms, and at times light maintenance.  Hosts work five days a week with weekends and holidays being the busiest times. Most positions are available beginning in May with the season wrapping up in mid-September.

Due to the remote location of many campgrounds, host’s recreational vehicles must be fully self-contained as utilities are not always available. However, water, sanitation and sometimes other amenities are provided. If hosts are not working out of a guard station or cabin, they are provided a complimentary campsite. They also receive a small daily stipend of $25-$28 to offset the costs of propane and generator fuel.
