The 2300-acre Hayes Road Fire is expected to reach 90 percent containment today according to Ben Shearer with the Southeastern Washington All Hazard Incident Management Team. The fire is burning off Highway 17 at mile post 125. All evacuation orders have been lifted. Yesterday helicopters dropped water on some harder to reach areas and crews were able to line 90 percent of the fire. Local agencies are expected to take over control of fighting the fire this morning. There have been no reports of injuries or loss of structures due to the fire.
