Hayes Road Fire Contained

The Hayes Road Fire eight miles northeast of Mansfield is completely contained and the Type 3 Incident Management Team has transitioned control of the fire back to Douglas County fire district #3 and #5. The fire area may have some minor hot spots over the next couple of days that produces some smoke.

The fire was contained at 23-hundered acres and started Friday afternoon at MP 125 on Hwy 17 near Leahy Jct.  There were no structures lost in the fire. The cause is under investigation.
