Highway 97 in Omak reopened last night around 7:00 after a fatal accident involving a car and a semi. The incident occurred at Cameron Lake Road when a white Chevy pickup carrying two people was crossing 97 and was struck by a semi truck. Both occupants were killed as a result of the accident. Washington State Patrol determined the cause to be the pickup failing to yield the right of way to the semi. Neither person has been publicly identified and will not be until after notification of next of kin.
