K9 Police Dog Injured

A local K-9 police dog has been injured in action. Reno, a proud Belgian Malinois, was hurt during a pursuit Thursday night while going after a suspect at the intersection of Mission and Spokane.

The police dog who works with Deputy Aaron Shepard suffered a broken elbow and abrasions after being hit by a car. Reno is expected to make a full recovery and the K-9 dog will return to active duty serving the County of Chelan when he is able.
