The Moses School Board is in a bit of time crunch. The $137 million school construction bond is 4 votes short of passage and the election results will be certified on Friday.

If the bond fails, the Moses Lake School Board would have to approve a new bond resolution in a matter of days to another bond election on an upcoming April 25th special election date.

To solve the time crunch, School board President Kevin Donovan says the board will vote Thursday on whether to run the identical bond package again in April.   If the few yes votes needed for passage materialize, the bond resolution would be withdrawn.

As of last Friday's results, the Grant County Auditor had tallied 5,647 votes to approve or 59.97% voting for the bond.   There were 3,770 votes to reject or 40.03% voting against the bond.  A 60% approval is required for passage.

The bond would pay for construction of a new high school and elementary school, and repairs to the current Moses Lake High School.
