Shots from a rifle started a brush fire Saturday evening about two miles up No. 2 Canyon Road.  Chelan Fire District No. 1 Chief Mike Burnett says the people responsible for starting the fire called RiverCom to report it shortly before 9:30pm.  The fire had burned slowly to about 3 acres by Sunday.  Chelan County, Forest Service, Department of Natural Resources and Bureau of Land Management personnel had reached 75% containment on the fire by Sunday with full containment and mop up expected today.

Level 1 evacuation notices – "be aware and be prepared" – were issued for Gun Club Road and up No. 1 Canyon and No. 2 Canyon.  No homes were threatened.
