An extended season and hours are just part of the changes at Rocky Reach Dam which opens March 1st.

Debbie Gallaher said they also tried to add a little sizzle to the science of horsepower to add to their already great offerings

"You can visit the Museum of the Columbia. That's a beautiful interpretative museum. We've got great views of the generation floor from our public areas on the 4th floor of the powerhouse. And of course we do have our beautiful park."

Gallaher, who runs the Visitor Center says they are also staying open later.

"We have heard from a lot of people who come out here that we close too early. We couldn't agree with them more."

Gallaher said the Center will now be open until 6, the Museum of the Columbia and the Powerhouse will be open until 5:30, and the park will be open until 6 though Memorial Day when it will be open until 9.

Gallaher noted you might be able to see fish in the fish ladder starting in April, but the bulk of spawning will happen in June and July.
