Here is a briefing on the regional fires filling our skies with smoke and creating unhealthy air conditions;

Taber Fire--The latest fire is the 7 acre Taber Fire is burning near Taber Road at the end of Brender Canyon, west of Cashmere. The fire was first reported just after 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon and the cause  is under investigation.   Crews from the Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Chelan County #6 and Cashmere Fire are assigned.  A Level 1 evacuation advisory has been issued for Brender Canyon, Briskey Canyon, Taber Road, and Sky Meadows.  No structures are currently threatened. The road at the end of Brender Canyon was closed. The fire is 30% contained.

Jack Creek--The 1,200 acre Jack Creek fire is 15 miles SW of Leavenworth in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.  Started by lightning on August 11th and was dormant for several weeks with minimal activity before burning into more receptive fuels and growing quickly in recent days. The fire is at 0% containment  LATEST INCIDENT UPDATE

Uno Peak--The 6,200 acre Uno Peak Fire is approximately 15 air miles north of Manson burning in the steep slopes of the east shore of Lake Chelan on lands managed by the USFS.  The fire is 1% contained. LATEST INCIDENT UPDATE

Diamond Creek--The 75,000 acre Diamond Creek Fire is 12 miles north of Mazama in the Pasaytan Wilderness. The fire started July 23rd and is believed to be human caused. There are also 10,000+ acres that have burned north of the Canadian border.  The fire is at 65% containment LATEST INCIDENT UPDATE

Jolly Mountain--The 21,00 acre Jolly Mountain Fire was started by lightning on August 11th and is burning 11 miles northwest of Cle Elum on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.  The fire is at 0% containment  LATEST INCIDENT UPDATE

Norse Peak--The 19,000+ acre Norse Peak Fire was also started by lightening on August 11th and has forced closures of Highway 410 in Pierce and Yakima County.  The fire is at 8% containment.  LATEST INCIDENT UPDATE

Bridge Peak--The 3,700 acre Bridge Creek Fire was ignited by lightning on August 8th on the Colville Reservation, 13 mile NE of Keller.  The fire is at 78% containment.  LATEST INCIDENT UPDATE
