UPDATE Thursday:

After a 2nd threatening message was found Monday at Wenatchee High School in a girl's bathroom stall,  Wenatchee School District officials now report a third threatening message was discovered Wednesday at Foothills Middle School.  In a press release, District officials said they believe it is a copycat message and a very low threat.  Similar to the message found at the high school,  it was written in very small print in a girls’ restroom stall.  The press release goes on to say "The safety of our students and school communities is the school district’s top priority".

Mark Helm, Executive Director of Student Services is emphasizing that all 3 messages are not considered viable but security has been increased and officials are working closely with Wenatchee Police to apprehend the person or persons responsible.

Helm explained why the school has increased security yet considers the messages to be of little threat...

Anyone with information regarding these messages is urged to contact the Wenatchee Police at 663-9911. Superintendent Brian Flones says the district is committed to keeping parents and the public informed on the situation, and will continue to provide updates.  Flones said the district would pursue legal proceeding against whoever is responsible.  Wenatchee Police Capt. Edgar Reinfeld says the investigation continues but the threat to student safety still lacks credibility.

A second threatening note was discovered Monday in the same girl's bathroom at Wenatchee High School where  similar handwritten graffiti was found last Wednesday.  Wenatchee Police said last week the threat was under investigation but lacked credibility due to the low visibility of the message, but are actively pursuing leads.  Captain Edgar Reinfeld says the threat to student safety still lacks credibility.   All Wenatchee High School parents were notified Friday after the initial discovery.   Due to the open case, the school has not released the exact message of the original message to the public.   The school's Apple Leaf Newspaper has published an image of the second message in it's online edition which indicates the original note should be taken seriously and reads "not a threat...you'll see  you'll all see"  The student newspaper also reports several students say they plan to skip school or their parents plan to keep them home on October 7th, a date alluded to in the original threat.   October 7th is the date of a Homecoming Assembly.
