Semi crash and fuel spill closes SR 243 in Grant County

Washington State Patrol says a truck driver was hospitalized after falling asleep behind the wheel and crashing a semi truck this morning on State Route 243.

The collision involves a 150 gallon fuel leak that has prompted a closure on SR 243 between State Route 26 & Beverly Burke Road.

The Washington State Department of Transportation estimates the road could be closed until early afternoon.

A detour is available on SR26 to Beverly Burke Road, then south to SR243.
