Top Baby Names

Another year is coming to an end and the most popular baby names have been tallied and ranked.

For 2016, Sophia and Jackson are on top as the year's most popular baby names, according to Baby Center.

Sophia has been reigning as queen of the list since way back in 2010, while Jackson has been at the top of the boys' list for the past four years, according to Baby Center.

In addition to Sophia, are the names Emma, Olivia, and Ava. Jackson's runner-ups include Aiden, Lucas, and Liam.

The data was collected by over 400,000 parents who shared their baby's names with Baby Center in 2016. The website notes names that have multiple spellings, like Sophia and Sofia or Jackson and Jaxon, were counted as the same name.
