2021 Numerica Winter Ice Gala Going Virtual
Due to Governor Jay Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” proclamation, the Town Toyota Center main arena has been closed to the public since March 13, 2020. Therefore, arena staff decided to launch an online version of their much-anticipated annual Winter Ice Gala. The Numerica Winter Ice Gala is an ice skating show and formal dinner where attendees pledge to support youth ice skating lessons and enrichment opportunities at the Town Toyota Center. Over the past 8 years, over $130,000 has been raised from the Gala event and given to schools or youth organizations in the Greater Wenatchee Area.
The Virtual Winter Ice Gala will be a nostalgic recap of the Galas from 2013-2020 coupled with live interviews with professional skaters from the prior years. Photos of the ice skaters, Olympic and national medalist figure skaters, and Gala décor photos will be posted on social media.
The public is invited to view an online link and contribute any amount of funding to the Arena Youth Enrichment Fund (AYEF) held at the Community Foundation of North Central Washington. (www.cfncw.org). Currently, there is $25,000 in the grant fund. The goal is to raise an additional $20,000 in pledges from January 5th to February 5, 2021 to accumulate enough money to fund 1st and 2nd graders in the Greater Wenatchee Area (when school and sports resume). “Ice skating is a life skill. Most of our 1st and 2nd graders have not had any opportunity to learn to skate or play hockey this season,” says Mark Miller, general manager at the Town Toyota Center.
On Friday, February 5th at 7:00 p.m., the Virtual Numerica Winter Ice Gala will be held online, free to the public (www.towntoyotacenter.com or Facebook/towntoyotacenter). Town Toyota Center’s Beyond Creations Catering will offer a 3-course dinner curated by Executive Chef, Jodi Riggles. Guests must pre-order by January 29th and pick-up on the VIP North side of the arena on Friday, February 5th between 4:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m. The Gala menu includes:
