City of Quincy's Recreation Department will soon offer a free class series targeted toward young adults, 15-25. The classes will tackle different topics at each session, starting on January 28.

"There's four class nights set up, 90 minute classes," said Russ Harrington, director. "There's less and less of this stuff being taught."

The classes will introduce and give insight to young adults on tasks like home mortgages, insurance, household maintenance, car maintenance and even how to cope with struggles that crop up in adulthood. Several local businesses, like Les Schwab, and community members, such as a local banker, will help lead the courses.

"They'll be taught by people that are in our community that are in the business field," said Harrington.

All classes are at the activity center and run from 6-7:30. Call or email the rec department to get signed up for the class or for more information.

"We're hoping this is just the intro and we can start something like these classes more often and kind of expand some of the topics in the future also," said Harrington.
