An investigation by the State Auditor's Office shows that a former Grant PUD employee took home and kept nearly $14,000 worth of PUD property for more than two years after leaving the utility.

The findings say that in late January of 2018, a security supervisor maintained possession of a military grade ballistic helmet, advanced target laser, and night vision goggles despite leaving Grant PUD.

He admitted in an interview that he had used the items since then.

He returned the items to the Ephrata Police Department in March of last year.

The case is being referred to the County Prosecutor.
