The Cascade School District will go with an interim principal for its high school after one of the two finalists for the position dropped out last Friday.

According to the district, the hiring committee decide to stop hiring process for the time being, citing the best interests for students and staff. The hiring committee was also unable to reach a consensus on who its would recommend to the school board.

Current Cascade High School Assistant Principal Rudy Joya will be appointed the school's Interim Principal next school year.

Joya, a former teacher and administrator at Wenatchee High School, has a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Central Washington University, a Master's Degree in Teacher Leadership from Walden University, and a principal certificate from WSU.
