The city of Cashmere is looking for input on the future of roughly 20 acres of land where the former wastewater lagoons were. There will be a community forum in March to gauge what residents' would support for development in this area.

"It could be parks, environmental, economic development - what is it that the city residents' would really like to see that land use for when you think about the long term future?" said Mayor Jim Fletcher.

According to Fletcher, the feedback gathered from the meeting will be turned over to a citizen's planning commission to start putting plans into motion.

"A citizen group that will look at that information, trying to come up with a comprehensive view for a long term plan for that," said Mayor Fletcher.

The forum was previously set for February 3, but has been rescheduled to Monday, March 2nd at 6 p.m., giving residents' ample time to prepare input. City officials and the community will congregate at the Riverside Center for the meeting.
