Chelan County Commissioners to Interview District 3 Candidates Next Tuesday

Chelan County Port Commissioners are set to interview the only two candidates that applied to replace outgoing District 3 commissioner Rory Turner next week.

Chelan-Douglas Regional Port CEO Jim Kuntz said Link Transit CEO Richard DeRock and Alan Steele, father of State Representative Mike Steele, will be interviewed in the late morning April 26th.

"The board members at that point will deliberate but will not make a decision on (April) 26th." Kuntz said, "I do not know at what point of time they will make a decision, but it will not be the 26th. It will be just interviews only."

The board must have Turner's successor in place 90 after his effective resignation date, or July 25th.
