Chelan County has posted the position of Director of the Chelan County Regional Justice Center to find a permanent replacement for interim Director Bill Larson.

County Commissioner Kevin Overbay says they are first looking in-house.

"We now have advertisements out and we are taking applications now internally to identify Bill's successor that we're hoping to have in place by April 1st."

Overbay and Commissioner Bob Bugert praised Larson who has been with the County since July 2018.

Bugert says they are very hopeful there will be a lot of interest.

"They've been in direct contact with about 20 prime contractors that may be putting in a bid, so it will be interesting to see how many actually do submit their bids today. The last I heard is that at least 11 have been provided. So we will have a good environment for having competitive bids."

He called it a major undertaking for the Public Works Department but they hope to start the work sometime in the spring.
