Wenatchee City Council is moving forward with a payment of $160,728 to construction company, KRCI, for the paving of the Lincoln Park dirt pump track. This cost was included in the construction cost estimate.

"When you approved the construction contract...we had shown in the budget that this change order would be coming," said David Erickson, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services director. "Because of the way we bid the project, we have to do it as a change order."

The city is opting to pave the dirt area for long term maintenance reduction and the possibility of a multiuse amenity.

The project to revamp the park hasn't started yet.
