Crescent Mountain Fire Spilling Smoke into Stehekin

The Crescent Mountain Fire is 26,181 acres and is 34 percent contained. Incident Commander Mike Wilkins says there was a lot of smoke that went into the Stehekin area Monday.

"That wind got aligned with the drainage and it shoved that thing, it walked the dog up Mack Creek. We do not think it has crossed the top of the main ridge, but it's possible. The North Cascades Parks folks actually went out on the Lake and we've talked with them, tried to look back and they haven't seen anything. It's obviously been very smoky, and there might be something there, but we don't think so."

Fire activity is expected to moderate some throughout the day Tuesday with thinning smoke due to light winds.
