The following is a press release from the Washington State Department of Transportation:

Work on the US 97 Boundary Bridge fish passage project will require the contractor to reduce traffic to a single lane near Swauk Creek campground on Blewett Pass next week.

Beginning Monday, June 21 at 6 a.m., the road will be reduced to a single lane and traffic will be managed with temporary signals to move travelers through the work zone. This traffic control will be in place 24 hours a day through midday Thursday, June 25 to allow the concrete  to set up properly before letting traffic back on the new bridge. Travelers should plan for longer than normal travel times through the area while the signals are in place.

Drivers are reminded to stay alert for workers through the area and to obey temporary signals. The 35 m.p.h. reduced speed zone and width restrictions remain in place.

More information about this fish barrier removal work is available on the project webpage.

Updates will be shared on the travel alert page, and on Twitter @WSDOT_East.
