Douglas County PUD met Monday and made several changes to their proposed rate structure that targets mainly non-diverse loads like data centers and cryptomining operations.

PUD staff are now suggesting that the proposed changes begin July 1st, 2020 instead of early January 2020 to give current customers that use non-diverse loads more time to adjust.

Staff also removed large, up-front increases within each rate schedule. Otherwise, rate increases have remained the same.

Commissioners agreed to vote on whether to adopt the new rate schedule and lift the moratorium on new businesses that use non-diverse loads at their next meeting January 27th.
