Deputies are searching for the driver of a stolen motorcycle that collided with a deer on McNeil Canyon Road.

Douglas County Chief Criminal Deputy Steve Groseclose says firefighters were first on scene and contacted the motorcycle driver as he was leaving in a white van up McNeil Canyon.

"Deputies arrived on scene and the same white van later drove down the canyon and the deputies stopped and contacted the driver." explained Groseclose, "Through conversations with him we were able to identify who the driver of the motorcycle was."

The significantly damaged motorcycle had no license plate and was found to be stolen from Seattle. If caught, the suspect could face charges including possession of a stolen vehicle.

The unnamed driver was said to be bleeding from his elbows. The deer's condition is unknown.
