Grant County Health Officer Alexander Brzezny announced Thursday that he would be ending the county's masking mandate effective immediately.

In a press release, the health district says it will now follow the CDC and Washington State Department of Health guidance on masking. The decision came after close monitoring of COVID-19 case trends, spread, hospitalizations and health system capacity by officials.

The health district added that people who are not fully vaccinated need to continue wearing a face mask in public indoor settings even as things start to go back to normal.
