Icicle Road Reopening Friday

The popular Icicle Road southwest of Leavenworth is reopening Friday.

Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Public Affairs Officer Robin DeMario says that developed campgrounds are still closed and there is no dispersed camping allowed between the road and Icicle Creek.

"Also, due to trailhead improvement work; road grating and the replacement of new gravel and parking barriers, the spur road off of Icicle Road that accesses 8 Mile and Stewart Lake trailheads will be closed until May 31st. Please don't use this road while work is occurring as it will not be safe due to the heavy equipment moving up and down the roadway."

DeMario says they hope people recreate responsibly this weekend.
