North Cascades Highway to Close November 15th

State Route 20 North Cascades Highway will close no later than November 15th this year as WSDOT implements its first planned closure date of the road.

WSDOT is setting the closure date to allow travelers to plan ahead with more certainty, although the road could close earlier depending on conditions. The closure points will be the Ross Dam Trailhead on the west side and the Silver Star Gate on the east side.

North Cascades Highway is closed by WSDOT each year due to avalanche risk. The stretch usually reopens by early May.
