The winter storm warning has passed and North Central Washington residents are now beginning the process of digging themselves out of the snow.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Jeremy Wolf said that over the last 24 hours the Wenatchee area got three to five inches, with similar levels going north toward the Okanogan Valley.

Quincy got three inches of snow, and Leavenworth received 12-18 inches as areas closer to the Cascades experienced much higher levels of snow.

"The highest report we had came from the upper end of Lake Chelan in Stehekin." added Wolf, "They came in at 38 inches, which is the second-highest snow total on record dating back to 1906."

Blewett Pass was estimated to have received nine inches of snow.

New snow accumulations are essentially only expected in the mountains through Saturday.
