The remains of a missing Moses Lake woman are reported to have been found over the weekend in Skagit County.

KPQ news partner iFIBER ONE reports a friend of Rachel Lakoduk has confirmed the remains of the 28-year-old were found Saturday in the Hidden Lake area just west of Marblemount.

Skagit Search and Rescue reported her as a missing hiker who disappeared during snowy conditions in mid-October of 2019.

iFIBER ONE reports Lakoduk's friend, Emily Sawyer, confirmed that Lakoduk's remains are in the possession of the Skagit County Coroner, and an autopsy will be performed to find the cause of death.

Sawyer told iFIBER ONE that Lakoduk was found in her sleeping bag, and her final resting place was far off trail on a 50-degree slope in a depression under a fallen tree.

She told iFIBER ONE that search parties were able to identify Lakoduk's remains based on her clothing and equipment as well as her red hair, and that some of Lakoduk's remains were scattered.
