The new roundabout construction project at 3rd and Highline in East Wenatchee will be completed in about half the time according to City Project Development Manager Tom Wachholder.

In a new video series on the city's YouTube channel, Wachholder told mayor Jerrilea Crawford they'll finish the project in about a month and a half.

"Because of the COVID-19 situation, we were able to give the contractor an additional week closure due to the fewer disruptions to the motorists because of fewer people on the roadway."

The area will be closed to traffic for one more week and then the contractors will come back in June for another two-day closure to mark the street.

There will also be new pedestrian crosswalks in that area.

Both Wachholder and Crawford expressed that this will make that intersection easier to navigate, particularly if turning off Highline onto 3rd.
