Washington State Patrol troopers as well as other emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle accident involving a Pateros School District bus on State Route 97 near Wells Dam Monday afternoon around 3:40.

Trooper John Bryant said the bus was traveling southbound when its driver made a left turn and failed to notice a northbound sedan, resulting in the collision.

"The school bus was occupied. The parents were at the scene and took the children home." said Bryant, "So no children were injured."

Five children were on the bus at the time of the accident.

The driver of the sedan was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and the school bus driver complained of being shaken up. The school bus driver was cited for Failure to Yield.
