Semi-Truck Fire Shuts Down Vantage Bridge for Several Hours

The Vantage Bridge was closed for several hours yesterday morning after a semi-truck lost control, ran into the jersey barriers and caught fire. The driver was uninjured, but the truck came to rest blocking both westbound lanes, but the recovery and fire required the blocking of both directions over the bridge. The Washington State Patrol said they will charge the driver with driving too fast for conditions. Traffic did not flow in both directions until around noon.
