Gov. Jay Inslee and State Secretary of Health John Wiesman announced a pause on approving any county for a move to Phase 4 of the "Safe Start" reopening plan.

In Saturday's announcement, Inslee said, "Phase 4 would mean a return to normal activity and we can’t do that now due to the continued rise in cases across the state."

Wiesman says the best thing Washingtonians can do is wear masks when in public, practice good hygiene and maintain physical distancing.

The state had nearly 3,000 cases last week.
