A Wenatchee home's residents are displaced after a structure fire Tuesday afternoon damaged the house's exterior and roof.

Chelan County Fire District 1 Battalion Chief Carey Neu said crews responded to a fire on Crescent Street around 12:15 pm and quickly worked to get water up to the fire.

"They got a quick knock-down on the outside. (The fire) had some slight extension up into the roof area." Neu said, "So after that it was just a process of finding the extension into that area."

A man and four dogs were in the home at the time and were all able to make it out uninjured. He has been contacted by the Red Cross to receive assistance in finding temporary housing.

The cause is under investigation.
