Christopher Valle-Maciel was arrested in Riverside, California Tuesday under accusations of first-degree murder

Yair Flores Cavero was shot to death in August 2022 while sleeping in his home in the 1600 block of Methow Street.

Douglas County prosecutors have also charged Travis Earl Collins with 1st Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Robbery.

Javier Valdez pleaded guilty in November to first-degree murder in the gang related shooting death of 18-year-old Yair Flores.

A Douglas County jury convicted 28-year-old Potter of first-degree murder and eight other charges on October 30.

A judge has scheduled the sentencing of Dalton Scott Potter for December 14th at 9:30am in Douglas County Superior Court.

Dalton Scott Potter is charged in Douglas County Superior Court with 13 felonies, including first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Douglas County Superior Court Commissioner Phil Safar formally informed Potter of the 13 felony charges against him Tuesday.

Twenty-seven-year Dalton Potter also refused to answer any questions in court for the third time Thursday.

A no-contact order was issued to Potter, prohibiting contact between him and the witness party.
