Bus Drivers

Wenatchee School District searches for bus drivers. The district holds a job fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 29 at the transportation department building. Motion to extend the $1,200 retention bonuses passed with a 6-5 vote.

Link Transit is short six full-time employees for covering all of their service areas. They currently have four operators in training, but will not be ready by October 3.

After the presentation, Douglas County Commissioner Kyle Steinburg made the motion to reject the proposal, with Chelan County Commissioner Bob Bugert, Bob Goedde, and Douglas County Commissioner Marc Straub voting for the rejection and Anne Hessburg, Chelan County Commissioner Tiffany Gehring, Mark Kulaas, Cashmere Mayor Jim Fletcher, and Joyce Huber being against it.
