The community will have a chance to share their thoughts on their proposed Regional Sports Complex project, which is geared towards providing an indoor space for recreational sports and spur economic development in the valley.

City of Wenatchee’s Executive Services Director Laura Gloria says the city would funnel $40,000 towards this feasibility study.

The contract, or Professional Services Contract, calls for the New England based firm Berry Dunn to be paid roughly $300,000 to perform the research.

Money from the state would pay for most of the project, but it's no longer available this year.

Design work should be completed by June of 2023, with construction scheduled between September 2023 through June of 2024.

The Port is paying $2.25 million for about 100 acres of land south of the Malaga Alcoa Highway.

Groundbreaking on the first of three buildings in the 5300 block of Malaga-Alcoa Highway is expected to get underway this fall if all goes well with the permitting process.

The building at the corner of Columbia Street and Orondo Avenue is part of a group of former warehouses in the area owned by the Port, which it's trying to revitalize.
