Douglas PUD commissioners approved the interlocal agreement between the neighboring PUDs at their last meeting.

PUD General Manager Gary Ivory informed commissioners at this week's PUD board meeting that the change would go into effect as of July.

It'll be one of a select few facilities in the entire country to produce green hydrogen and will be the first of its kind in Washington state.

Washington state will be joining 19 other states who passed similar moratorium bills.

Local media partner Wenatchee World organized a community roundtable with Douglas County PUD General Manager Gary Ivory and 12th-District Senator Brad Hawkins on the district’s future with hydrogen fuel Thursday.

A public hearing on the proposed cost increase will be held on the second Monday in April.

The hearing is set in Douglas County Superior Court for March 31 at 1:30 p.m.

A warehouse company along with San Francisco based Diamond Foundry have both expressed strong interest in occupying the property in question.

Microsoft and the PUD entered into an interconnection agreement for the PUD to supply the infrastructure needed for the center.

PUD commissioners have approved a $3.2 million contract renewal with Cascade Cable Contractors to install the cable.
