It's one of nearly 579 stores across the country marked for sale in the merger as is the Ellensburg Safeway.

It looks like there may be a major change in how some of us get our groceries in Washington state in 2024.

It's almost a third of Washington's Kroger and Albertsons locations, which operate under the Safeway, Albertsons and Fred Meyer brands.

On Oct. 14, Kroger announced that they are currently in talks with Albertsons on merging together.
