The highway was back open by about 8pm Tuesday after closing at 4am Saturday - Christmas Eve - because of treacherous driving from snow and ice.

Areas north of US 2, east of Waterville, and south of SR 17 are closed, which includes McNeil Canyon Road, Bridgeport Hill Road, and a 14-mile portion of SR 172 between McNeil Canyon Road and Mansfield.

Three vehicles were trapped on the roadway for less than two hours.

Due to high winds causing drifting snow and extremely poor visibility, all roads on the Waterville Plateau and at higher elevations east of Waterville and north of U.S. Highway 2 and south of State Route 17 have been closed, including McNeil Canyon Road and Bridgeport Hill Road...

These road closures will provide pedestrians more access to businesses in downtown Leavenworth, while maintaining road access to emergency and delivery vehicles.

Roadways are expected to reopen after April 1.

The county closes Horse Lake Road in Wenatchee, Oklahoma Gulch Road near Entiat and Mountain Home Road in Leavenworth between Dec. 1 and April 1.

The roadway was closed between Skykomish and Grotto from noon until 2 p.m. while crews removed hazardous trees and other debris.

U.S. Highway 2 is back open today after closing Monday afternoon to remove a tree stump hanging over the highway. The stump was left over from a tree that tumbled onto the roadway, which led to a shutdown Sunday at the site of the Bolt Creek Fire...

The closure is between MP 45-50, between the Money Creek Tunnel and the 5th Street bridge.
