A social media post from the family Wednesday stated their son Angel Mendoza Ruelas suffered from an accident on U.S. 97A

Drivers were experiencing 20 minute delays while crews shored up hillsides in the area of two rock slides.

They say 43-year-old Alan Moody was headed southbound just before 9pm when he failed to handle a curve at a high rate of speed and drove off the roadway.
