U.S. Forest Service Asking Parkers on Eightmile Road to Follow Rules

The U.S. Forest Service is reminding visitors to Eightmile Road southwest of Leavenworth that there is no parking on the side of the road for safety reasons.

Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Public Affairs Officer Robin DeMario says there are risks to motorists and that emergency vehicles cannot access the area if both sides have cars.

"If people continue to ignore this and park on the road, further restrictions limiting access to the area may have to be implemented."

Parking is permitted at 8 Mile and Stuart Lake Trailheads only.
