Wenatchee School District will be sending out a survey for community members to weigh in on remote learning in June. The survey will be collecting feedback on the current situation and feedback to move forward into the 2020-2021 school year.

"The reality is, there will be probably be some type of remote learning continuing to exist next year," said Superintendent Paul Gordon.

Governor Inslee has tasked State Superintendent Chris Reykdal with organizing a task force to create an education reopening plan. Some of the models the work group is studying include options with remote learning.

"We hope that the plan at the time, it'll be safe for many of our students to come back to our schools," said Gordon. "But we know that the reality of that when we look around the United States, when we look around the world, we see some type of hybrid where some students are in school and where some students are still learning from home."

According to Gordon, the school district should receive Reykdal's report and instruction as to how move forward for the upcoming school year in early summer.
