The Washington State Apple Blossom Festival has a lot going on as spring moves on.

The festival is gearing up for its annual golf tournament at the Highlander Golf Course from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm May 13th.

Administrator Darci Christoferson said the tournament has a few openings for teams left.

"We decided to keep our golf tournament on May 13th instead of moving it to June." explained Christoferson, "One of the main reasons for that is June is cherry season, and the majority of our golfers are in that world."

In addition, the Apple Blossom Festival's All Service Club and Community Luncheon is June 9th. The event is open to the public, with tickets going for $25 and tables of 10 selling for $225.

This year's speaker is John Norlin, a Wenatchee High School graduate who is the co-founder of CharacterStrong. CharacterStrong is an organization that provides training and curriculum for schools internationally.

Finally, prints by artist Jan Cook Mack are now available for purchase, with all funds going to continuing the festival. Mack designed the festival's 1995 print. Prints cost $35, with an 11x14 inch canvas option for $50.
