The Washington State Patrol says a driver is likely still alive because he received a dose of Narcan from one of its officers north of Wenatchee.

Trooper John Bryant tells KPQ News the Patrol found the driver slumped over the steering wheel of a car that was still running after being told of a disabled vehicle on the side of northbound U.S. 97A seven miles north of Wenatchee.

Bryant said the trooper got the driver out of the car and administered Narcan after reviving him.

Troopers believe the driver, who now faces DUI charges, may have been saved from an overdose.

The Patrol was called to the scene at 8:47 a.m. Sunday morning.
